But this is a picture-perfect example of what the mainstream media (MSM), Obama Administration, and the left have done to both the working American, and those who have served this country. That is because it involves one of the oldest American trades, and servicemen.

When two Nebraska gunsmiths found out about the office supply chain Staples’ PUSH It Forward Contest, they saw it as an opportunity to help their business. The contest, sponsored by Staples, gave local businesses the chance to win money to put toward marketing.

After applying for the contest, the gunsmith company, Maple Creek Gunsmithing, received a rejection e-mail that read:

“We’re sorry, but your small business entry into the Staples PUSH It Forward Contest has been rejected for the following reason(s):

Entry contains content that promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing); promotes any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous; promotes any particular political agenda or message; is obscene or offensive; or endorses any form of hate or hate group.”

It is hard to imagine that one of America’s oldest trades is placed in the same category as “illegal drugs” and “hate groups”.

There was a time in our history when every town had at least one gunsmith. A town without a gunsmith was a town in trouble- because without working firearms, they could not put food on the table, not to mention protecting themselves from danger.

Take a moment to imagine winning WWII without gunsmiths. Police departments, and every arm of the military couldn’t survive without gunsmiths. One could make a valid argument that America would be living under the King or Queen had we not had talented gunsmiths working on the firearms of the American Revolution.

So it should be an embarrassment to the Staples organization, that they would treat gunsmiths this way, not to mention, Army veterans who served this nation.

It would be interesting to know if Staples allowed restaurants to enter the contest that serve wine, beer, or any alcohol. Most places that serve food have a bar, and promote “happy hour”…but that would be pointing out truth, and Staples’ political agenda.

Welcome to America in the year 2013.

That is exactly what happened to a 10-year-old California boy who brought a tiny Swiss Army knife on a school camping trip. The hammer and tent spikes were closer to a “weapon” than the little tool that is considered the official knife of the Boy Scouts of America.

We can debate about the rules related to this school camping trip, but the problem lies in how the school officials reacted when they found out that his boy had this Swiss Army knife with him.

The situation could have easily been addressed with a simple confiscation of the knife, and given to the parents at the end of the trip- case closed. But that is not what happened. This boy was treated like a criminal.

Fox News reports, “According to a school incident report, the boy showed the small knife to other students who then reported him to teachers. The incident report stated that law enforcement was also notified. However, no charges were filed.”

The boy’s father received a call from the school’s principle. He was informed that his son had brought a weapon to school.

The father explained the call from the school principle “She threatened to expel him,” he said. “She kept telling me, ‘you can’t bring a weapon to school.’ A Swiss Army Knife is a tool not a weapon.”

But the story doesn’t stop here.

Fox News reports that, “Since he was unable to pick up his son, the principal put the boy in 24-hour isolation at the camp – held in a teacher’s lounge where he was forced to eat and sleep in solitude.”

Instead of this boy having an opportunity to have social interaction, learn, and come away with an experience that is reflective of “education”, he essentially is left feeling like a criminal for doing something the Boy Scouts of America do.

The father’s reaction sum up this situation, as well as the state of our public school system as a whole:

“I felt as though I want to pull him out of the public education system and home-school him…I felt as though the public education system is becoming the bottom of the barrel. I felt sorry for today’s kids.”

He also added, “They’re not teaching critical thinking…That’s what she’s teaching these kids – to react on your emotions instead of gathering information.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves…

In recent years, particularly since the Boston Marathon terrorist attack, we have witnessed a national media dance around the obvious: jihad is alive and well. It didn’t die with Osama Bin Laden. And while liberal pundits, and even President Obama, are pushing a warm and fuzzy definition of jihad, the rest of us see jihad for what it really is with our own eyes.

The Oxford Dictionary defines “jihad”  as “a war or struggle against unbelievers”. But you knew that already, right?

In the book Essential Islam, Diane Morgan writes, “The authoritative Dictionary of Islam defines jihad this way: ‘A religious war with those who are unbelievers in the mission of Muhammad’”.

When radical Muslims launch jihad against the United States, they are launching a war against what they see as a nation of unbelievers; that is, we are not living our lives in alignment with Allah. Got it?

Islamic radicals hate us for a reason. There is a deep seeded purpose for why they have waged “jihad” against the western world.

Somewhere between 9/11 and the Boston Marathon bombing, the progressive mainstream media have become apologists to jihad. The logic behind this escapes us, particularly because the progressive/left-wing agenda is so offensive to the Islamic world.

It is time to remind the media, the left, and low-information voters why two of the largest buildings in New York City were leveled along with thousands of innocent people from all backgrounds, faiths, and ethnic groups. They hate us for a reason.

Here are a few reasons followers of radical, fundamentalist Islam hate what America, and much of the western world stand for:

• Woman have equal rights. We don’t force woman to cover their faces, they can walk the streets alone, and even choose who they speak to while in public- without “their man”.

• Gay rights: these are some Islamic countries where “same-sex activity” is literally ILLEGAL, with sentences of prison, and even death:

Afghanistan (DEATH penalty)
Iran (DEATH penalty)
Saudi Arabia (DEATH or life prison)
United Arab Emirates (deportation, prison, or DEATH penalty!)
Yemen (DEATH penalty)
Pakistan (2 years to life in prison)
Kuwait (fines, prison)
Oman (fines, prison)
Palestinian terriroties (Male illegal)
Qatar (fines, prison)
Syria (prison)

• Hollywood – We have an industry that puts out “entertainment” that is, quite honestly, blasphemous to Islam. In the eyes of radical Islam, the entertainment industry is pushing filth- from music, television, film, and the pornography industry.

• Freedom of Speech- the simple freedom to disagree with the words in the Koran, openly, is a big problem if you live in many Islamic countries. Don’t believe it? Just do some reading- even the recent death sentence given to a pastor in Iran who left Islam and became a Christian. How much violence, even murder, has erupted from simply drawing a cartoon version of Muhammad, or make a silly offensive video?

As the prime-time progressive news-spinners tiptoe around the words “Islamic radicals” and defend “jihad” as a peaceful pathway, remember why these killers kill in the name of religion. They hate us for a reason- and that reason is individual freedom.

“If there’s something strange, in your neighborhood,Who ya gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!”

In reality the song would go something along these lines:

“If a maniac, is in your school, who ya gonna call? 911!…and hide under a desk” (to put yellow police tape up)

The cold, hard truth is, when tragedies involving killers occur, by the time the police are called, then arrive, they are investigating a murder scene. And in most cases, the killer has done themselves in, or have already committed the heinous act.

With all the respect and honor given to our men and woman who wear the badge, they don’t have superpowers, nor can zap themselves from across town with a transporter. Police officers, themselves, admit they can’t be everywhere at every time- and getting to the scene of the crime, while it is happening, is near impossible.

So the best option for someone dealing with a crazed person with a willingness to kill is to close doors, hide under desks, and wait. That recent anti-gun legislation politicians are spiking the ball about isn’t doing your kids any good while an insane man with a stolen gun enters their school.

But those on the left, in the media, and our so-called leaders scoff at the idea of placing a trained, armed security guard on school property.

Let’s get this right- if a crazed person with a desire to commit murder shows up at a school, the school officials’ best option is to dial 911, and then wait for people, with guns by the way, to show up and stop the situation?

So politicians like Mayor Bloomberg, Maryland Governor O’Malley, and NY Governor Cuomo, are a-okay with trained officers showing up after the fact, with guns nonetheless, but they’re not okay with trained officers, with guns, to be on the scene to stop the act in the first place? That, my friends, is insane thinking.  Where is the logic in that?

With all the anti-gun legislation aimed at law-abiding citizens (the only ones who obey laws),  our kids are no more safer in their schools then they were prior to the latest murder spree in Connecticut. Nothing has changed except the reminder that our schools are still unprotected. The stupidity is truly mind-blowing.

Every murder spree has had one major thing in common: Gun Free Zones.

These murders don’t occur at airports, police stations, court houses, or government legislative buildings. Apparently our leaders believe that they are worth more than our children. Our luggage is safer than our children- just pathetic.

An acquaintance shared their frustration with many professors at a local college. These professors of “higher learning” expressed their displeasure with newly placed armed security on campus- most of which were retired police officers to begin with. Keep in mind, these officers already worked security on campus. The difference? They were now allowed to carry their sidearm (instead of a stick).

Their view had absolutely nothing to do with safety, but rather, how “it looked” to have security with guns- even if the guns were concealed.

In their absence of logic, these professors were ignorant to the fact that if trouble arose, they would call 911, with the expectation that officers would arrive with…firearms. Yet in their minds, having officers with the same firearms stationed on campus, was somehow unacceptable.

In the end, our schools basically have two options:

Option A: On-campus armed security gives them a chance, an opportunity to stop violence, and in turn, save lives.
Option B: Call 911, wait for armed-security to arrive, hoping they don’t get stuck in traffic, or are stuck at another call, and finally arrive to investigate a murder…after the fact.

This argument is one that probably preaches to most of the choir here. But if, even for a moment, someone can gain some new insight- and be reminded of common sense, and the safety of our children, maybe we can honestly start saving some lives, rather than political positions.

Ask yourself this question: Are my kids, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, any safer in their schools today because of the gun-legislation being pushed by lawmakers? In other words, when a maniacal person with a stolen, or illegally, black-market purchased gun arrives at a school, do you trust Mayor Bloomberg or a well trained, armed officer?

Case closed.

A side to the gun debate that has been given little, to no voice in the national mainstream media, is the right of woman to carry a firearm for protection. With  male politicians telling woman that they can’t be trusted with a firearm for protection, and encouraging them to just vomit on themselves, we have some ignorant legislators.

Five woman told their horrifying stories of rape and torture, and how police call boxes, lying about having herpes, and screams did nothing to protect them. Put politics aside, and I challenge woman who usually speak up for woman’s “right to choose” to see another side of the “freedom to choose”…to defend.
