This story is a textbook example of how black conservatives are treated by those on the left. Last week Glenn Beck dedicated a show to giving some black conservatives the microphone for an hour. The video, which is posted on the previous blog entry, should have been eye opening to people from both parties. These were conservatives- both Republicans and Democrats- and even some independents. When black conservatives speak their minds, their voice is marginalized, even their “blackness” is questioned- as if liberals and the Democratic Party have taken ownership of the black vote.
And in their eyes, if you are a black conservative- you must not really be black; or you are a “sellout” to your race. This type of rhetoric, in itself, is racist. It even sounds like the Democratic Party of old. You know, the ones who gave birth to the KKK? What, are the history books leaving that chapter out these days?
On Wednesday evening, Rev. Jessee Jackson was speaking at a Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Foundation reception. It didn’t take long for Jackson to stick his foot in his mouth. Here’s what he said, that only someone like Jesse Jackson could get away with:
“We even have blacks voting against the healthcare bill,” Jackson said continued… “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”
Jackson was directing his comment at Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.). Davis, a black representative who takes a more conservative stance on issues was voting against the Democrats’ signature healthcare bill.
Jessee Jackson is doing the bidding for left-wing liberals who have done nothing for the black community except the continuation of modern day slavery in the name of “social programs”. Yeah, that’s something Van Jones won’t tell his loyal zombies. And when black leaders and representatives like Rep. Artur Davis steps up and speaks his mind and heart, he is thrown to the wolves and “made an example of” by one of the most powerful black leaders in the country.
When a person’s heritage and race is questioned by the powerful and elite, what message does that send to others who would like to speak their minds, and vote their conscious? Jackson is utilizing Rule #5 straight out of Sal Alinksy’s Rules for Radicals (whether he knows it or not, but he has learned from the best)- Rule 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.”
Fortunately, this kind of race baiting doesn’t work like it used to. People are waking up. This health-care bill isn’t about black or white, its about what is right for our country’s future. Jackson no longer is part of the solution when it comes to race relations, he is part of the problem. Now people like Jackson are putting divides among people of the same skin color. And Americans, no matter what color their skin is, have got his number.
