Tea Party Protests vs. Climate Summit Protests: What would Nancy say?

climate_summit_vs_tea_partyA few months back Nancy Pelosi practically broke down in tears as she eluded to how scared she was.

She said, “I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw … I saw this myself in the late ’70s in San Francisco. This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we, violence took place and … I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made.”

Was Pelosi responding to the SEIU members who beat down a man for handing out flags? No. Was she responding to the elderly man who got his finger bit off by a pro-government health care supporter? Again, no.

Nancy Pelosi was responding to the Tea Parties and 9/12 March. In the same speech she also indirectly sends a warning to conservative talk radio hosts, bloggers, and T.V. hosts by saying, “I think we all have to take responsibility for our actions and our words. We are a free country and this balance between freedom and safety is one that we have to carefully balance.”

The 9/1 2 march was one of the biggest protests Washington has seen. While the media referred to tens of thousands of protesters, the real number was closer to a million or more. But putting numbers aside, how about the violence Nancy Pelosi was speaking about? There was none.

In fact, there were no arrests related to the 9/12 protest. There were no bricks through windows, tipped over cars, molotov cocktails, rocks hurled, etc. There were signs, there were speeches, there were chants, and there were lots of smiles. And in the end, the Washington Mall was left looking like it was before the protest. Wow, these conservatives and Libertarians actually made the “anti-war/peace/tree-hugging” marches look like a bunch of polluters (what’s with that anyway?). Did you see how the National Mall looked after the Obama Inauguration?

So while Pelosi and gang (and their loyal media) continue to point the finger at the Tea Parties, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and anyone who speaks out against the Obama Administration as being threatening- the real violence and out-of-control protests are coming from the left- that’s your side Speaker Pelosi!

When you apply Pelosi’s “I’m freaked out” speech to the Copenhagen Climate Summit protests, it actually applies. When Pelosi said “curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made”, she could apply that to Al Gore. When we have the poet and Oscar winner going around the world warning about the demise of civilization- some people are going to be freaked out.

And in Copenhagen, Gore even gave a speech where he said that the polar ice caps would probably be melted away in five years (not true, but hey, he’s Al Gore). It’s no wonder the young and easily mislead tree-huggers are lighting the city on fire and throwing bricks (how that helps “global warming”- you’ve got me).

Now I know, there will be those who say, “but there were peaceful protesters holding hands and singing kum-bi-ya”.  Sure, there were peaceful protesters, but there were between 600 and 700 people arrested this past weekend- not including those arrested this week. Can you imagine the headlines if just 20 people were arrested at the Tea Party rallies? Can you picture the New York Times front page if protesters at the 9/12 march in D.C. were throwing molotov cocktails and bricks at government buildings and cars? The only negative image the media could print or air on the nightly news was a sign with Obama as “the Joker”- and that image was originally created by a left-wing liberal artist! I can’t imagine what the report would have been if 600 Tea Party goers were arrested for rioting- the media would still be on the story.

So let’s break it down by using popular figures in the media. On one side we have the Tea Parties, on the other the global warming protesters. Many Tea Party goers listen to Glenn Beck, among others who are raising awareness that the U.S. government is corrupt and too big.  Al Gore and Obama, are among those on the left who are pushing the idea that we are facing a catastrophe with climate change- and that its our fault; man-made global warming.

Glenn Beck and other conservatives are blamed for violence that hasn’t happened. Their even being blamed in fictional story lines such as the program Law and Order. Al Gore is given an Oscar, a Nobel Peace prize (as is Obama), and the mainstream media doesn’t question, but rather kiss the ground they walk on.

But, in the end it is not the followers of Glenn Beck who are rioting in the streets, throwing bricks and molotov cocktails, but rather, the global warming crowd who would place Al Gore up on the pedestal. Maybe Al Gore should take fellow Democrat Nancy Pelosi’s advice and “curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made”. Hey Al, maybe you should tone down that “rhetoric”- its making your people go a little crazy in the streets in Copenhagen…

Here are some of those Communists that the media fail to acknowledge in the Climate Summit protests…
