Obama Administration must be illiterate, or need new glasses

The highest office with the title “attorney” that a lawyer could hold in the United States is the U.S. Attorney General. One would believe that, if you are an attorney, having the title “U.S. Attorney General” would mean you know your game- and you stay right up on the current law items of the day.

But here is how Attorney General Eric Holder responded to questions about his criticisms of the Arizona illegal-immigration law. Holder said, “I’ve just expressed concerns on the basis of what I’ve heard about the law. But I’m not in a position to say at this point, not having read the law“.

Keep in mind, the Arizona law doesn’t even break twenty pages. You can even read it here.

Notice how Holder said that he came to his opinion of the law “on the basis of what I’ve heard”. Bingo! This is a crystal clear example of where we are right now with our leadership in Washington. Words have no meaning anymore. The actual law has no meaning to these people.

Our leaders seem to legislate “on the basis of what they’ve heard” about the Constitution. Not only are they not listening to us, they don’t even read anymore.

There would not be anyone else in such a high level position, related to law for that matter…right? Wrong.

Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, who is also an attorney, also admitted that she had not read the bill either. After saying “I have not reviewed it in detail” Napolitano went on to say  “I believe it’s a bad law enforcement law”.

And then we have a State Department spokesman who is critical of the law for the “racial profiling” that could occur (even though the law strictly, and clearly, prohibits it). He also admits to…you guessed it, not reading the darn law. Watch the video here.

We witnessed this with the “Obamacare” bill. That bill, breaking the thousand page mark, was so big they didn’t even try. But for progressives, ignorance is truly bliss. They believe they can always go back to the argument that “I didn’t know that was in the bill”. Really?

Americans might have looked the other way a decade ago, maybe even a few years ago. But the powers that be have reached a new level of ignorance. It is almost as if these people feel like they can live in an alternate reality as long as they don’t know the truth. If they don’t read it, it isn’t so.

It goes back to what Barack Obama told a graduating class at a recent commencement speech he gave. He said, “information becomes a distraction, a diversion”.

Obama continued, “coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don’t always rank that high on the truth meter”.

Imagine if Americans didn’t have alternate news sources other then the mainstream left-leaning media. We wouldn’t be exposed to the truth. Or as the President says, “all kinds of content”  and “all kinds of arguments”.

But maybe that’s why the Obama Administration feels so threatened by too much information.
